How The COVID Pandemic Has Forced Changes in The Health Sector
The current COVID 19 pandemic has forced the world to stand up and take its
healthcare and health infrastructure seriously. With the global COVID cases
increasing on a regular basis, hospitals across the world are finding it hard
to deal and cope with the increase in the number of patients daily. With global
leaders now realizing the significance of a strong health care, the need for
state of the art hospitals has increased significantly.
The demand for superior health-care:
With the COVID death toll increasing with every passing day, the need for
well designed and state of the art hospitals are increasing. Countries such as
India have witnessed close to 5 million COVID cases, due to which, the
importance of hospital architecture
design & planning in India is being realized. With COVID patients
requiring separate isolation wards and critical life support, it becomes all
the more important to have a well thought of and designed hospital to be able
to cope with the high influx of patients on a regular basis.
Taking care of other patients:
With the daily COVID positive cases increasing and hospitals finding it
hard to cope with the rising number of patients, those patients with regular
health needs need to be protected. In such a scenario, it has become important
to ensure that they are attended to and given the best medical assistance while
keeping them protected from the COVID virus.
A matter of life and death:
Hospitals are now investing a sizeable amount in procuring state of the art
life-saving machines such as ventilators, that can help increase the survival
rate of COVID patients. As ventilators need to be placed in a convenient
location, in order for it to be monitored by medical experts, it has become
important to have well designed wards, to help the medical staff achieve the same.
The COVID pandemic has come as a wake up call for countries to invest well in medical infrastructure and equipment, and going forward, the demand for superior health care is only expected to increase.
